Acoustic Neuroma Treatment Options

Observation, radiation, and microsurgery are the three main management pathways. No single option is right for everyone.

The goal is an informed decision shaped by your individual situation and an experienced care team.

Watch & Wait

Observation uses planned MRI, hearing tests, symptom review, and specialist follow-up rather than immediate tumor-directed treatment. The schedule should be individualized by your care team.

Radiation

Stereotactic radiosurgery or fractionated radiation may be discussed to control tumor growth. Follow-up imaging remains important, and your radiation team should explain expected changes and possible effects.

Microsurgery

Surgery may remove part or all of a tumor. Goals, approach, hearing considerations, facial nerve monitoring, recovery, and the experience of the skull-base team are important parts of the discussion.
